Curriculum Vitae
Hersilia Alvarez was born on April 2, 1976, in Pinto, Santiago del Estero, Argentina. She has been living and working in Rosario since 1994. She graduated from the U.N.R. University with a Licentiate Degree in Journalism and Social Communication (her Thesis was about Graciela Sacco\'s work.) She also has an Associate\'s Degree in Photography from the Photography School of the Instituto Superior de Educación Técnica N.º 18 (ISET XVIII) and a Postgraduate Degree in Mass Media and Electronic Imaging. She studied Fine Arts at the U.N.R. University for 3 years. Over the past 10 years, she has taken several courses, workshops and seminars given by renowned artists and photographers such as Norberto Puzzolo, Juan Travnik, Diego Mujica Ortiz, Andrés Labaké and Eduardo Gil. . She is currently doing research into Photography and Human Body within the framework of a U.N.R. University project called “Estéticas Fotográficas Latinoaméricanas” (Latin-American Photographic Aesthetics). She is the founder and Director of the Escuela Rosarina de Fotografía (E.R.F.), an experimental and non-academic learning organization that teaches Contemporary Photography. She is also the coordinator of several Photography Aesthetics Workshops at the E.R.F. Since 2006, as Director of the Rojo Carme Sí Arte Contemporáneo productions, Hersilia has been organizing art exhibitions for different well-known and emerging artists. She writes articles for several art and cultural magazines such as Ciudad Tónica, Ramona and Tropofonía.
